    I recently enrolled in  the Level II certification class for One Stroke painting.  I became a Level I One Stroke Certified Instructor (OSCI) in 2005. As many of you know One Stroke Painting was developed by Donna Dewberry and is a simplied method of learning to paint.

    I have enjoyed One Stroke painting over the past few years.  I have used what I learned from One Stroke to help me branch out and learn other painting methods.

    I attended the Level II certification class this month. I had a great instructor for my Level II certification class – Michelle James in Livonia Michigan.  She was wonderful and so patient.

    I am very proud to report I passed and I am now a Level II, One Stroke Certified Instructor -OSCI.

  3. What’s Happening!

    What’s happening at CelestinePaints……..

     

     

     

    Here’s an update on what is happening with Celestine Paints.

     

    I am working hard to gather all of my surplus art suppliesfor a GARAGE SALE.  This sale istentatively scheduled for June 8th and 9th.  I plan to have a great deal of arts and craftrelated items in my sale. More info to come.

     

    Always more to learn….

    I have attended some Zentangle classes and I am planning toattend more. During April and May I will be working to obtain the next level ofOne Stroke Painting certification. I am hoping this training will give me newideas to pass on in my classes.

    My goal is to reach One-Stroke Elite Instructor status.

     

     

    I am always looking for new ideas for classes. Let me knowif you have suggestions for future classes. Remember, I am available for painting parties and small group lessons.

  7. Still Tangling

    From Celestine Paints:

    I haven’t posted in a while.  Not much new to report – yet.

    Some bad news….. The Creation Station is closing.  The last day is Saturday Feb. 25. The Creation Station will certainly be missed!  I hear there is another similar recycling store about 60 miles from me.  Time for a road trip!

    ToleTown.com is having an online garage sale starting March 1st.  Tole town members will offer garage sale items to the public. This is a great chance to get crafting and painting supplies. I am gathering some items from my stash to offer.  Check out http://www.toletown.com for more information.

    I created the above tee shirt using a Sharpie marker for tangling. I used watered down fabric paint for shadows and highlights.  I will attend a Mandela Zentangle  class this weekend. I can’t wait to learn more.

  10. Recycle, Reuse and Save Money Creatively

    For feel good bargain hunting in Lansing check out the Creation Station,  200 Museum Drive, Lansing, Michigan. The Creation Station is a non-profit volunteer group which takes donation of items from industry and individuals to be used by crafters, artists, teachers, scouts, churches and any other creative types. “A destination for people with imagination, a community outlet to reduce, reuse and recycle. ”

    Creation Station shoppers recycle and reuse as they craft. The Creation Station shopper obtains great bargains while keeping  items out of the landfill.  One will routinely find many wonderful items at the Creation Station including beads, quilting fabric, yarns, paints and painting surfaces.  Most items are priced by the bag. Selected assorted items stuffed in a standard paper grocery bag are $6.00.

    Sadly the Creation Station is only open on Thursdays and Saturdays.  It is staffed by volunteers so call ahead to double check the hours, call 517 371-2451. The Creation Station is definately worth the trip.
