  2. Love my Gelli Plate!

    June 6, 2014 by Administrator

After a big craft fail … (trying to make my own mono printing plate ) I bought a Gelli Plate.  Now I am hooked! I have had so much fun using stencils, stamps, sprays, paints and anything else I can find to make art using my Gelli Plate. Here are examples of background papers I have created.

Check out http://www.gelliarts.com or look up Monoprinting with a Gelli Plate on YouTube for more information.

  6. What’s Happening with Celestine Paints?

    May 1, 2013 by Administrator

    Hello All,

My One Stroke Painting classes continue.  I am looking for a location to offer additional painting and Zentangle classes. Let me know if you have suggestions.

This summer I will take part in the Allen Street Farmers Market, City Market/Grand Art Market and the Lansing Juneteeth Celebration all in Lansing.

I am also planning a garage sale for Friday, June 14th.  More info to come.

  7. Angels Among Us

    November 14, 2011 by Administrator

Painting angels for Christmas  cards and ornaments using enamel paints on frosted glass bulbs  (from Hobby Lobby).

    Angels step by step.

Using a non-traditional color scheme is fun. I love the purple and gold combination.

  8. Rose Jewelry Stand

    October 26, 2011 by Administrator

I’m going to use this as a decorative holder for my jewelry on my night stand.  No more knocking earrings off the night stand when reaching for my glasses.

    I used the following:

One sheet of decorative scrap book paper

One metal candle holder (from the dollar store)

One plastic decorative wall plate (also from the dollar Store)

    Acrylic paint

    Mod  Podge or white glue

    Glitter

I painted a One-Stroke Cabbage Rose  with buds on the scrap book paper. I cut the design out to fit the wall plate. I coated the front of the wall plate with Mod Podge then I added the glitter to the rim of the plate.  I centered the scrapbook paper cutout on the plate. The wall plate came with a PVC cover which I snapped in over the design. To finish I glued the back of my plate to the top of the metal candle holder.

I like my finished project.  I can think of a lot of uses for a small stand like this.
