After a big craft fail … (trying to make my own mono printing plate ) I bought a Gelli Plate. Now I am hooked! I have had so much fun using stencils, stamps, sprays, paints and anything else I can find to make art using my Gelli Plate. Here are examples of background papers I have created.

Three weeks ago the Online Art School with Justin Bua began. I stumbled across an announcement of this new school of art last month. Since Justin Bua is one of my favorite artists (have a large one of his framed prints on my living room wall) I had to check this out. There was a reasonable cost but I am on a retirees budget. I decided to enroll. I am having a great time learning using this online school.
There are online video lectures featuring Bua (who is also a university art instructor) to view at your own pace. There are assignments associated with most lectures. You upload your work in pic and or video form as assigned.
Justin Bua himself reviews your work and posts a video of his critique. After getting over the fact that a famous artist has even seen my work, I have learned a lot from the critiques of my work and Bua’s critiques of others work.
The pics above show examples of assignments. As you can see, these are serious art lessons but I don’t feel out of place or left behind. After, three weeks, I have completed the first grouping of about 16 lessons. There are 5 groupings of lessons and they will be posting more. I hope you all are staying cool this summer.
I have a booth at the Allen Street Farmers Market on their monthly festival days – Wed. July 18th and Wed. August 29th. I sell original artwork, greeting cards and paint faces. Stop by and say hello. The market hours are 2:30pm to 7:00 PM.
I will also have a booth at the City Market Art Fair – Saturday, August 18th and the Mason Open Market on October 6th.
The next Advanced One Stroke Painting Class begins on Tuesday July 31, 5:30PM at the Letts Center. Calling all pass One Stroke students – come on back and join the fun!
The fall 2012 beginner One Stroke class begins October 2.
I am also available for private lessons, painting parties and face painting.

Bob Ross Painting Class
I recently took a Bob Ross painting class from Betty Darcy, a certified Bob Ross instructor, here in Lansing. I have attached the oil painting we completed in this class. Betty is a wonderful teacher and I enjoyed the class very much. Contact me if you want Betty’s contact info.

I’m planning a busy summer for Celestine Paints.
I plan to be at the Allen Street Farmer’s Market in Lansing on the following Wednesdays 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM:

Celestine Paints will offer hand painted greeting cards and face painting.These are festival dates when the Wednesday farmer’s market will feature arts and craft boothsalong with the produce booths. .
Lansing Juneteenth Family Celebration
Celestine Paints will provide face painting for the Lansing Juneteenth Celebration at St. Joe Park. This event is open to the public and is held on Friday and Saturday, June 15th and 16th. I will face paint on Saturday.
Summer One Stroke Painting Classes

Here’s an update on what is happening with Celestine Paints.
I am working hard to gather all of my surplus art suppliesfor a GARAGE SALE. This sale istentatively scheduled for June 8th and 9th. I plan to have a great deal of arts and craftrelated items in my sale. More info to come.

I have attended some Zentangle classes and I am planning toattend more. During April and May I will be working to obtain the next level ofOne Stroke Painting certification. I am hoping this training will give me newideas to pass on in my classes.
My goal is to reach One-Stroke Elite Instructor status.
I am always looking for new ideas for classes. Let me knowif you have suggestions for future classes. Remember, I am available for painting parties and small group lessons.
